Il Centro Studi e ricerche del Centro Sportivo
Italiano di Trapani ha costituito ufficialmente, con verbale n. 4 del 3 aprile 1994 il
MUSEO MALACOLOGICO DI ERICE |
Una istituzione didattico-culturale incentrata sui molluschi, costituita
come Mostra Malacologica Ericina nell’anno 1983, quale strumento valido per
consentire dal "vivo", l’esame comparato delle diverse specie di
conchiglie, il cui contenuto, qualitativo e quantitativo in continua evoluzione, dimostra
l’importanza di un’opera tendente a offrire una migliore conoscenza di questi
animali. L’attenzione rivolta ai Molluschi non distrae, però, l’interesse verso
le scienze naturali, tant’è che il Centro Studi ha potuto raccogliere e conservare,
al fine della tutela di un patrimonio scientifico, vertebrati e pesci di antica
imbalsamazione, minerali, fossili terrestri e marini. La necessità di divulgare notizie
sulle conchiglie e sulla Mostra ha imposto agli organizzatori la realizzazione di una
attività editoriale attraverso la pubblicazione di opuscoli nei quali inserire, in
maniera semplice e divulgativa, notizie riguardanti i Molluschi.

didactit-cultural institution placed in the center on Molluscs, established as Shells Show
in the year 1983, as an effective instrument to make possible "live" comparative
test of the different shell species, that are in qualitative and quantitative constant
progress, confirm the importance of a piece of work tending to offer a better knowledge of
these animals.The attention dedicated to Molluscs don not distract, however, the interest
towards the Natural sciences.The Centro Studi has managed to obtain and retain, with good
intentions to safeguard a scientific property, vertebrates and fishes of ancient
taxidermy, minerals and land sea fossils.
The need to popularize news on shells and on the Shells Show of Erice imposed to the
promoters the implementation of a publishing activity by the publication of booklets in
which insert, in simple and popular way, news Molluscs.
